Turned a childhood rock collection into a life's work.

Saurabh's relationship with crystals began at eight years old, collecting colorful stones from construction sand — back when the sand for building sites in his city came from West Bengal. He'd gather anything colorful he found and label it, an instinct that shaped a lot of what came later.

In the 1990s, before the internet, his parents gave him a set of World Book Encyclopedias — his first real way to identify what he'd been collecting. He'd look up each stone by name and sort his growing collection into labeled jars. By the time he was eleven or twelve, he already had a solid theoretical understanding of crystal types and their traditional healing associations, entirely from those encyclopedia pages.

The hobby never really stopped. As he grew older, he began actively trekking across Maharashtra to source crystals himself, building a collection that included selenite, clear quartz, milky quartz, and a large collection of carnelians.

His formal introduction to crystals within alternative healing came through an unexpected route — his training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Saurabh has spent over 18 years as a corporate trainer and behavioral coach, working with leadership teams at organizations including Cognizant, Emphasis, Google, and Accenture, and has coached hundreds of professionals across that time. He's also certified in counseling and therapy.

Alongside his corporate work, Saurabh went on to get certified in crystal healing and later trained in Tarot card reading. He's been formally practicing both for around 11 years.

In 2018, Saurabh cofounded Cold Lava Studio alongside his partners Priyanka Mehta and Anil Manghani.

Saurabh has been recognized with the Karmaveer Chakra Award, presented by iCONGO (Indian Confederation of NGOs) in partnership with UN Volunteers, for his work in personal transformation.
